The wood we use is PEFC approved to warrant it come from a supportable source,eg Europe or parts of the UK.The Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification, promotes sustainably managed forests, covering the majority of the worlds forest area.
This will have been kiln dried and seasoned giving the structure surprising strength and durability, yet still keeping up the beauty and class of the wood to form traditional yet modern, conventional timber Lodge.
The traditional mortise and tenon joinery still exists, with the entire structure centred around a timber frame, giving you the advantage of a large open access span and serviceable interior space.
Generally the frame structure is built in the factory over 4-5 weeks using modern machinery for accuracy and speed, and then the whole cart lodge is dis-assembled and transported to site.
The varied pieces are then put together, by our talented craftsmen, on to a pre-prepared base, with the home space, for 2-3 folk, finished to a very high standard. The frame is than in crammed with traditional cladding techniques or structured insulated panels, known as SIP’s to give you a finished carriage house.
The result’s a standard timber frame look with all the conveyance and savings of a modern building.
